Making your own kettlebells

Even though CrossFit relies on a grassroots approach to equipment, some of the gear associated with strength training can be expensive – especially kettlebells – so when I come across ideas like the above, it’s only natural to share with others.

    Hey Christian,

Thanks for the comment on About Atlanta. It’s nice to get some press for CrossFit. If you’re ever in the area, come hang out with me and we’ll bust a workout together. It gets lonely coaching all the time and working out alone! See you soon, James

Very usefull design ! Thank you so much ! I’m going to look for stainless pipe first but will default to galvanized and be great full. I’m 205lbs and am attemting to make a kettlebell at or near my bodyweight. I’ll email some pics of my success or compromised success. THANKS AGAIN !

    P.S.
I’m guessing threadslip could be a nuisance but will try ‘THREAD LOCKER’ to elliminate play or the sense of loose weights.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

Great idea using the piping. Will create a very useful piece of kit.

MAXFACTOR, would love to see how your KB goes, that’s insane kettlebell at bodyweight.
Seriously need to find time to make one myself. However, BW for me would be 305lb

    Regards
    Rob

You would need some depleted uranium to make it that heavy and manageble.
